9th Annual Western New York Bowhunting Festival
This festival offers educational and participatory experiences for all levels of expertise
There seems to be a growing interest in bowhunting as of late, and there is also a garnered interest in target competition using bow and arrows. Even local high schools have begun teaching students the art of archery, and they have competed in and placed in National contests. The annual WNY Bowhunting Festival at Swain Resort will feature both beginner participation and seasoned professional bowhunters, and archery target shooting.
The festival gets underway on Saturday, August 24th and runs through Sunday, August 26th. Ticket prices vary with the different options available, and registrations are now being taken online. If you choose the option of just coming as a patron to watch, there is no fee. However, if you want to ride the lifts to the top of the mountain there is a $5 fee per ride for that.
There are activities for archers of all types. The festival offers attendees a wide variety of educational & participatory experiences including Compound Archery, Traditional Archery, Trapping, Tracking and more.
