Have the volunteers stand in the middle of the circle. Volunteers will choose a scenario then acted out the scene. The participants who formed the circle is deemed “society.” The circle is charged with identifying patterns that may interfere with open communication. They will have the ability to stop the scenario and confront the conscious or unconscious behavior that may hinder the scenario from developing. The volunteers will use the feedback and alter their behavior in real time as the scenario will continue at the point it was stopped! This activity will aid to the development of the group, share societal norms, alleviate anxiety confronting social exchanges, and help students navigate college with a deeper appreciation for communicating with their peers.
